What is MuseALABAMA?

MuseALABAMA is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by Jill Marlar, located in Greenville, Alabama with a mission to connect communities through creative arts by connecting creatives within communities through shared classes, experiences, and workshops.

MuseALABAMA bridges the arts across communities through supported leadership and place-making initiatives to foster creativity, bolster entrepreneurial growth, and connect communities. By integrating art into public spaces, we transform everyday environments into vibrant, culturally rich, and engaging hubs that inspire cultural expression, build community identity, strengthen social cohesion, and support economic advancement.

  • Central to this work is our commitment to youth engagement, recognizing the arts—whether music, visual art, or drama—as essential to child development. The arts foster creativity, critical thinking, emotional regulation, and social skills, while supporting academic success, self-expression, confidence, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Through creative placemaking, we activate spaces in historically rural communities to connect people, spark dialogue, and reimagine what’s possible in our neighborhoods—enhancing quality of life for residents and fostering more inclusive, connected communities.

October 11, 2025 began a 18K campaign to fully support Free Arts Experiences in Butler County for January - May 2026.

MuseALABAMA is building a future where communities shape vitality through the Arts—It’s mission is to bond creatives within a community, making the Arts essential infrastructure, using activated public and private spaces to nurture, enrich, and sustain. It builds strength from within supported by artists to advance personal expression, strengthen social bonds and provide viable assets that contribute to local economies.

Supporting MuseALABAMA in partnership with Marlar Creative helps build a working blueprint for counties across Alabama showing how they can enrich their community through the Arts for all ages. Funds raised through this campaign provide FREE creative arts experiences for all ages. Money raised will provide materials and supplies, facility fees, needed equipment, fees for accompanists, and compensation for teaching artists.
