Growing up in Tallassee and Montgomery Alabama, I watched my mother take her cookies to church events and give as gifts to friends on special occasions. Over time she was baking more and more that by my college years they were in demand.

By her mid 50s she joined me in Birmingham to open Jill’s, a cookie shop in Vestavia Hills featuring her delicious half moon shaped cream filled cookie called “Precious Jills”. Each dozen packaged elegantly with a special gold label featuring either the oatmeal or chocolate chip variety. Her shop was filled with my artwork, specialty gifts and local roasted bagged coffee. After a few years of success, the demands of her being a full time baker while I was busy teaching led her to close and get back to her another love, visual art.

As a baker and artist like mom it’s now time in my mid 50s to bring this sweet little legacy cookie back with my own style in honor of her only grandchild, our daughter Ruby.

Baked in the heart of Greenville Alabama and they’ll making their official branded debut in early December 2025 just in time for the holidays.
